Hello. My name's Luke Ryan.
I write words.

You may have heard of words – they're all around us. In fact, you're reading words right now! But words needn't be scary or confronting. They can be fun, like the word phlebotomist. Or pretty, like the word phlebotomist.

Over the years I have written words for a number of reputable organisations, including The Vine, Crikey, The Age, triple j mag, MIFF, the Melbourne Festival and many more. I'm yet to have been fired or taken to court, so I presume I'm doing OK. You can find some samples of my work here.

I have also flirted with the idea of comedy, and did a show called Luke's Got Cancer at the 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festival ("Serious belly laughs" said The Age... It was funnier than it sounds) and currently work with a sketch comedy outfit called The Lords of Luxury, which has a podcast series you should totally download.
