Hello. My name's Luke Ryan.
I write words.

You may have heard of words – they're all around us. In fact, you're reading words right now! But words needn't be scary or confronting. They can be fun, like the word phlebotomist. Or pretty, like the word phlebotomist.

Over the years I have written words for a number of reputable organisations, including The Vine, Crikey, The Age, triple j mag, MIFF, the Melbourne Festival and many more. I'm yet to have been fired or taken to court, so I presume I'm doing OK. You can find some samples of my work here.

I am currently working on my first book, a comic memoir entitled 'I Guess You're Only As Sick As You Feel', which will be published by Scribe Publications in early 2013. The book is based on my 2009 Melbourne International Comedy Festival show Luke's Got Cancer ("Serious belly laughs" said The Age... It was funnier than it sounds), although these days I spend my time working with a sketch comedy outfit called The Lords of Luxury, which has a podcast series you should totally download.
